Homecoming 2005 was a huge success... The weekend began with Friday night's supper and Jam Session. Then on Saturday morning Breakfast with the MaHarreys. The concert with DEWgrass, The Jeff Treece Band, and The MaHarreys on Saturday night was especially wonderful. All three groups were at their best. Along with some great up and coming soloists...Glen Pool, Danny Ray Harris, and our good friend State Rep. Nick Williams. Thanks to everyone who joined us for this special weekend, and start making plans for Homecoming 2006 now. For more about Homecoming '05 and lots of photos...
The Governor of Alabama recognizes Paul MaHarrey...
Alabama State Representative, Nick WIlliams, is shown to the left presenting Paul MaHarrey with a proclamation from Governor Bob Riley recognizing him for his contribution to Gospel Music. Paul has spent his life traveling throughout the United States and Canada performing southern, bluegrass, and country Gospel music. He has been
nominated for numerous awards, including the JD Sumner Living legend award for the past two years in a row. Paul continues touring with his Son, Daughter In Law, and grandchildren over two hundred-fifty dates per year.
The MaHarreys release new single to Southern Gospel Radio... Following their
last single "If Jesus Comes Tomorrow", which debuted at number 63 on The Singing News Top 80 Chart, The MaHarreys release another song nationally to Southern Gospel Radio. "Steer Me On
The Righteous Pathway" is the group's newest single. Although The MaHarreys display various styles of Christian Music, including Southern and Country Gospel, this song presents the Bluegrass side of the group. MaHarrey Headlines Archive
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year From The MaHarreys. Hi this is Scott writing this update to MaHarrey Headlines. Wow... how fast 2005 has passed. I joined the group just over a year ago. As Daniel always says... "Scott's anniversary is always one week before Auburn beats Alabama..." Oh well, being as I'm the only Bama fan on the MaHarrey bus, I don't have much Tide support. But this has been a great year for The MaHarreys. We have had two charting songs this year, been featured as spotlight artist for Solid Gospel Radio, been to hundreds of places to minister God's love and saving grace to thousands of people, and lived to tell about it. LOL I would like to add a personal note to the guys in the group... Thanks for allowing me to be a part of this awesome family. I have so many friends that I have met this year, traveling around the country, that I didn't even know existed this time last year. Not only the members of The MaHarreys, but all our friends across the country have welcomed me as part of the family, and for that I am grateful.
This year also marks the anniversary of Cliff and Clint joining the group. I'm so proud of these two young men. They have stepped up to the plate, and as far as I'm concerned... knocked a home run. If you would like, you can send them, or anyone else in the group for that matter, a word of encouragement by signing our guestbook.
The MaHarreys are excited about getting back on the road after our two weeks off for Christmas. Our schedule resumes for 2006 just as it was for 2005... Very Busy!!! We are also in the process of getting a new album ready for release this year. We are planning some changes to our website as well. There will be several new additions to the site, so be sure to bookmark it, and visit often. And don't forget to vote in the SGM Fan Fair/US Gospel News Fan Awards if you haven't yet done so. Please continue to pray for us as we continue to follow God's calling on our lives to spread His word to a lost and dieing world.
The MaHarreys hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends. We enjoyed being off Thanksgiving weekend to be able to spend time with our families. We will be letting you in on some of the things that some group members did on their time off. From vacations, to just enjoying being home for a change. Our usual busy schedule starts back up Friday (Dec. 2) in Shelby, AL, then to Phoenix City, AL on Saturday, and Columbus, GA on Sunday. We'll then have two days off and start revival in Shumucla, FL. God is blessing The MaHarreys so greatly, and we are so very thankful to have the opportunity to travel this country over and spread the Gospel to saint and sinner alike. We hope to see you in some of our upcoming concerts or revival services.
Nancy MaHarrey introduces a new addition to the MaHarreys website... As many of you know, not only is Nancy a talented vocalist; she is also an anointed preacher of the Word. One facet of The MaHarreys' ministry is holding revival meetings several times during the year around the country. In these meetings, Bro. Paul and Nancy take turns in sharing the message of the hour. If you have never heard Nancy preach you have surely missed a great blessing; as she is very careful to relate what God has spoken to her heart to the people she is ministering to.
This new feature of themaharreys.com will feature a word Nancy has received that she wants to share with our friends who visit our website. If you can't make it to a service where Nancy will be ministering; this is the next best thing. I know that you will be blessed and uplifted by her anointed ministry. You don't want to miss this new section of themaharreys.com entitled Meet The Band.In this feature we will be including each member of The MaHarreys. The debut edition of Meet The Band highlights drummer and bus driver, Shane Pridgen. You will see photos of Shane and his family and find out some things you may not have known about them. Each month we will present a different member until everyone in the group has been featured. We hope you will enjoy this new addition, and check back often to get better aquainted with all The MaHarreys. to view the first edition of Meet The Band.
Congratulations to our friend Melissa Clark for winning first place in Journey Records Songwriters competion with one of our favorite songs, "Mold Me and Make Me."
